Overview of shipping service providers

Table 1 lists all shipping service providers that are available in PlentyONE as well as all shipping service provider plugins that have been developed by PlentyONE. You can download the plugins in the plentyMarketplace. Click on the service provider in the table to jump to the corresponding sub-chapter respectively the corresponding page of the manual. There you can find descriptions about the shipping service provider-specific settings and other useful notes about setting up the interface.

Shipping service not available for every shipping service provider

Not every shipping service provider includes additional shipping services. If available and once you saved and reloaded the table of shipping charges, the shipping services are displayed in the table of shipping charges. They are displayed underneath the name of the service provider. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Settings and open the shipping profile in the Shipping profiles tab. Click on the Table of shipping charges tab and expand the region. The shipping services are displayed in the lower portion of the table of shipping charges.

1. DHL plentysystems Import

With the polling format DHL plentysystems Import, you can give DHL the task of carrying out a visual age check when delivering your items, such as liquids for e-cigarettes. Using this polling format, you generate a CSV file for data import to DHL. Upload the file in the DHL business customer portal in order to register shipments and receive labels. You need to configure the DHL business customer portal in order to use this service in PlentyONE. The business customer portal also includes the reference numbers that you need for setting up the tables of shipping charges in PlentyONE.

Carry out the settings described below to configure the DHL service Visual age check:

  • Carrying out settings in the DHL business customer portal

  • Creating a characteristic

  • Carrying out the basic setting

  • Linking the characteristic to items

  • Selecting the shipping options

  • Generating a CSV file and uploading it to DHL

Orders with different age limitations

If an order contains items with different age limitations, the highest age limitation applies to the entire order. For example, if one item has a 16+ rating and another item has an 18+ rating, the 18+ rating is used for the entire order.

1.1. Carrying out settings in the DHL business customer portal

Carry out the settings in the DHL business customer portal.

1.2. Creating a characteristic

Go to Setup » Item » Characteristics and create a characteristic of the type Selection. Save values for the different age restrictions. For example, create the values A16 and A18. Enter a name for the characteristic, e.g. visual age check.

1.3. Carrying out the basic setting

Go to Setup » Item » Settings and select the characteristic that you have just created from the drop-down list Item characteristic for visual age check. Save () the settings.

1.4. Linking the characteristic to items

Open every item that should have a visual age check and save the characteristic.

Linking the characteristic to items:

  1. Go to Item » Edit item » [Open item].

  2. Click on the Characteristics tab.

  3. Activate the characteristic that you have just created in the Activate further characteristics area.

  4. Save () the settings.
    → The characteristic is displayed in the Characteristics area.

  5. Select the value for the item from the drop-down list according to the age rating as created above.

  6. Save () the settings.

1.5. Selecting the shipping options

The service Visual age check is available in the table of shipping charges.

Select the shipping option:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Settings.

  2. Click on the Shipping profiles tab.

  3. Open the DHL shipping profile.

  4. Click on the Table of shipping charges tab.

  5. Expand the region ().

  6. In the DHL plentysystems Import area, select the option DHL Paket from the drop-down list Product.

  7. Select the option Visual age check under Services.

  8. Save () the settings.

1.6. Generating a CSV file and uploading it to DHL

Now generate a CSV file via a process or in the Orders » Shipping centre menu in the Polling tab. Save the file and upload it to the DHL business customer portal.

2. DHL Retoure with enclosed return labels

Use DHL Retoure with enclosed return labels to generate labels for orders that are shipped throughout Germany with DHL. Your customers receive a fully prepared return label with their delivery. If they choose to send an item back, e.g. because of a warranty or repairs, all they have to do is pack it and affix the label. The labels are created with the help of an event procedure. They can be found and printed in the shipping centre.

Proceed as follows to set up the interface to DHL Retoure with enclosed return label in PlentyONE.

Setting up the interface:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » DHL Retoure enclosed return labels.

  2. Carry out the desired settings. Note Table 2.

  3. Save () the settings.

Recipient

Enter the recipient’s data.

Billing number

Enter the billing number that you received from DHL.

Customer code

Enter the customer code that you received from DHL.

Barcode number sequence

Enter the data. Always enter three digits for the street code and house number. For example, enter 010 for the house number 10.

Service

Select a service.

Set up an event procedure to automatically generate return labels.

Setting up an event procedure
  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Events.

  2. Click on Add event procedure.
    → The Create new event procedure window opens.

  3. Enter a name.

  4. Select the event as listed in Table 3.

  5. Save () the settings.

  6. Carry out the settings according to Table 3.

  7. Select the option Active.

  8. Save () the settings.

Event procedures: Automatically generating the return label and sending it to the customer via email

You can create the return label automatically. To do so, go to Setup » Orders » Events and set up an event procedure. Select an event of your choice and as procedure the option Return > Generate DHL return label.

To send the return label automatically to your customers, you have to set up an email template. To do so, go to Setup » Client » [Select client] » Email » Templates and select the option Return label from the drop-down list PDF attachment. Afterwards, you set up another event procedure. Select Documents > Return label saved as event and Customer > Send email as procedure.

3. DHL Retoure Online

DHL Retoure Online allows you to generate return labels for orders with various countries of delivery. The labels are generated in the Orders » Shipping centre menu in the Return tab. You can then automatically send the label to your customer via an event procedure.

We recommend setting up the DHL Retoure Online integration in the Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » DHL Shipping » Retoure Online settings menu.

4. DHL Shipping

Via the interface to the DHL business customer portal, you can use the function Ship. You can easily set up the interface in the integration.

The menus for setting up the shipping service provider can be found under Setup » Orders » Shipping » Service provider » DHL Shipping.

5. DHL Supply Chain

Therefore, first carry out the settings in the chapters mentioned above. Afterwards, continue with this chapter.

Proceed as follows to set up the interface to DHL Supply Chain in PlentyONE.

Setting up the interface:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » DHL Supply Chain.

  2. Carry out the desired settings. Note Table 4.

  3. Save () the settings.

  5. Expand the region ().

  6. In the DHL Supply Chain area, select the option One-person handling or Two-person handling from the drop-down list in the line DHL product.

  7. Save () the settings.

6. DHL UK

Enter the billing information.

Shipper address

Enter the shipper data.

Adding shipper accounts

After you entered and saved the data in the areas Billing information and Shipper address in the Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » DHL UK menu, a new tab is added in the Shipper accounts area. This tab is named according to the shipper account number that you entered in the Billing information area. You may add as many shipper accounts as you like. This is done via the tab New.

Now carry out the shipping service provider-specific settings for the shipping services in the table of shipping charges. These services are only visible in the table of shipping charges after you saved the settings in the shipping profile.

Setting shipping service provider-specific services:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Settings.

  2. Click on the Shipping profiles tab.

  3. Open the shipping service provider.

  4. Click on the Table of shipping charges tab.

  5. Expand the region ().

  6. Carry out the settings in the DHL UK area. Note Table 6.

  7. Save () the settings.

7. DHL Preferred Delivery

Set up DHL Preferred Delivery in the Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » DHL Shipping » Preferred delivery settings menu to integrate the DHL Preferred Delivery services in your plentyShop.

8. DPD Cloud Webservice (My DPDBusiness)

How you set up shipping service providers and shipping profiles and which additional settings you have to carry out and may carry out, is described in the chapters from Setting up countries of delivery through Retrieving the log. The settings described there are the basic requirements in order to carry out the settings that are specific for each shipping service provider. Therefore, first carry out the settings in the chapters mentioned above. Afterwards, continue with this chapter.

Automatic assignment of the registration date to the next business day

If the day the order is registered is not a valid business day for DPD, the next business day is automatically selected.
If you register the order via the shipping centre in the Orders » Shipping centre menu in the Register tab, no date must be selected under Shipped on. Otherwise, the order cannot be assigned automatically to the next business day.

Proceed as follows to set up the interface to DPD Cloud Webservice (My DPDBusiness) in PlentyONE.

Setting up the interface:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » DPD Cloud Webservice (My DPDBusiness).

  2. Carry out the desired settings. Note Table 7.

  3. Save () the settings.

Enter shipper data:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » Settings.

  2. Enter shipper data for your warehouses.

  3. Save () the settings.

User ID

Enter the user ID that you received from DPD.

User token

Enter the user token that you received from DPD.

Additional address information on label

Select whether the additional address information that was entered in the delivery address is displayed on the DPD shipping label. DPD limits the character length to 35.
Add behind name = The additional address information is displayed behind the name.
Display in reference 1 = The additional address information is displayed under Reference 1.
Do not add = No additional address information is displayed.

Do not print email address on label

Select the option if the email address should not be printed on the DPD shipping label.

Now carry out the shipping service provider-specific settings for the shipping services in the table of shipping charges. These services are only visible in the table of shipping charges after you saved the settings in the shipping profile.

Setting shipping service provider-specific services:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Settings.

  2. Click on the Shipping profiles tab.

  3. Open the shipping service provider.

  4. Click on the Table of shipping charges tab.

  5. Expand the region ().

  6. In the DPD Cloud Webservice (My DPDBusiness) area, select a service from the drop-down list in the line Shipping service.

  7. Save () the settings.

Note the information about the shipments that you later register for DPD Cloud Webservice (My DPDBusiness) via the shipping centre. You find the information in the Data » Log menu. For further information about the log, refer to the Data log page of the manual.

DPD Cloud Webservice log entries (old)

This box provides information about the log entries in the Data » API log (deprecated) menu that relate to DPD Cloud Webservice. Click on the Shipping centre API log tab and select the DPDCloudWebservice process.

How to filter API log entries

By default, entries are sorted by their ID. You can filter the entries so that fewer search results are included in the list. An API name filter and a date filter are available for this purpose. It is possible to combine both filters so that only entries for a specific format and day are displayed.

Filtering log entries by name:

  1. Go to Data » API log.

  2. Select a format from the Process drop-down list.

  3. Click on Search ().

The desired format is not displayed?

The formats are not displayed in the Process drop-down list until the process has been carried out once and has therefore been logged. If you do not find new formats in this list, the process has not been carried out yet or the error you are looking for has not yet occurred.

Filtering log entries by date:

  1. Go to Data » API log.

  2. Select a Date from the calendar.

  3. Click on Search ().

CLOUD_USERDATA_NOACCESS

This entry is recorded in the log when access is denied.

Message Explanation

CLOUD_USERDATA_NOACCESS_SHIPMENTSERVICE

No access rights to the shipping service.

CLOUD_USERDATA_NOACCESS_COD

No access rights to the shipping service Cash on delivery.

CLOUD_ADDRESS

This entry is recorded in the log when address data is missing or incorrect. It is also possible that a parameter exceeded the maximum character length. The table lists several examples. However, the list is not exhaustive.

Message Explanation

CLOUD_ADDRESS_PHONE

The telephone number is missing or incorrect. Format: 5 to 20 characters.

CLOUD_ADDRESS_NEEDMAIL

The email address is missing. You are required to specify the recipient’s email address.

CLOUD_STATE_STATESHORT

The country in ISO3166-2 format: exactly 2 characters.

CLOUD_ADDRESS_COMPANYANDNAMEEMPTY

Company or name required.

CLOUD_API_ORDER_WEIGHT

Maximum weight exceeded. 31.5 kg can be shipped at maximum.

CLOUD_API_ORDER

This entry is recorded in the log when errors occur while registering shipping orders.

Event Explanation

CLOUD_API_ORDER_MAXORDERS

The maximum number of registered shipping orders was exceeded. It is not possible to register multiple shipments at the same time.

CLOUD_API_ORDER_SHIPSERVICE

Invalid shipping service.

CLOUD_API_ORDER_CODAMOUNT

Invalid cash on delivery amount. This must be between 1.00 and 5000.00 Euro.

CLOUD_API_ORDER_EXPRESS_DEU_COUNTRY

The selected express option is only available for Germany.

CLOUD_API_ORDER_CODPURPOSE

The cash on delivery reference contains too many characters. No more than 14 characters are allowed.

9. DPD Print

Before setting up the interface to DPD Print in PlentyONE. register with DPD. DPD customers can use the DPD Print program to easily create DPD parcel labels.

Flex/Predict active

Select the option to register the fee-based notification service Predict (formerly FlexDelivery) with DPD. If this option is chosen, the CSV file exported from PlentyONE contains the additional information PRO.

10. DPD Shipping UK

Visit the plentyMarketplace to download the DPD Shipping UK plugin free of charge and to be able to use the interface to DPD Shipping UK.

11. DPD Shipping Services

Visit the plentyMarketplace to download the DPD Shipping Services plugin free of charge and to be able to use the interface to DPD Shipping Services. After you have successfully installed the plugin, an assistant is available to help you set up the interface in an easy way.

12. GLS ShipIT

The settings described there are the basic requirements in order to carry out the settings that are specific for each shipping service provider. Proceed as described below to use GLS ShipIT in PlentyONE. Note that the data you enter in the Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » GLS ShipIT menu is only available in the CSV file generated in the Orders » Fulfilment menu in the List of delivery addresses area with the data format GLS preadvise.

Setting up GLS ShipIT:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » GLS ShipIT.

  2. Carry out the desired settings.

  3. Save () the settings.

13. Hermes Two-Man Handling

How you set up shipping service providers and shipping profiles and which additional settings you have to carry out and may carry out, is described in the chapters from Setting up countries of delivery through Retrieving the log. The settings described there are the basic requirements in order to carry out the settings that are specific for each shipping service provider. Therefore, first carry out the settings in the chapters mentioned above. Afterwards, continue with this chapter.

During the order process, customers should be able to request that their items are assembled for them. You can offer customers such a service with Hermes Two-Man Handling. In order to use this service, create an order characteristic. Create an order characteristic with the options Yes and No. Depending on which Characteristic type you select, you are able to configure the options that your customers later selects in your online shop.

Interface for existing customers only

The interface to Hermes Two-Man Handling can only be used by existing customers. New customers are asked to contact Hermes Einrichtungs Service GmbH & Co.KG.

Creating the assembly service as an order characteristic:

  1. Go to Setup » Item » Characteristics.

  2. Click on the New characteristic tab.

  3. Enter a name, e.g. assembly service.

  4. Select the option Order characteristic.

  5. Select the option Selection for the Characteristic type.
    → Additional options are displayed.

  6. Save () the settings.
    → The characteristic is created.

  7. Click on the Characteristics tab and open the characteristic that you have just created.

  8. Enter Yes into the Name field underneath the characteristic type.

  9. Save () the settings.
    → An additional name field is displayed.

  10. Enter No into this name field.

  11. Save () the settings.

Now link the order characteristic with the item.

Linking the characteristic with the item:

  1. Go to Item » Edit item.

  2. Use the search function () and open the user account that should be edited.

  3. Click on the Characteristics tab.

  4. Activate the characteristic that you have just created.

  5. Save () the settings.

Customers who place this item in the shopping cart are able to select the option Yes or No from a drop-down list.

Assembly service only available when shipping with Hermes

The order characteristic is linked to the item and not to the shipping service provider. If more than one shipping method is saved for the item or if other shipping service providers besides Hermes are saved for the item, you should insert a note into the online shop, which tells customers that the assembly service is only for Hermes shipments.

Proceed as follows to set up the interface to Hermes Two-Man Handling in PlentyONE.

Setting up the interface:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » Hermes 2-Mann-Handling (two-man handling).

  2. Carry out the desired settings. Note Table 9.

  3. Save () the settings.

Setting shipping service provider-specific services:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Settings.

  2. Click on the Shipping profiles tab.

  3. Open the shipping service provider.

  4. Click on the Table of shipping charges tab.

  5. Expand the region ().

  6. Carry out the settings in the Hermes (two-man handling) area. Note Table 10.

  7. Save () the settings.

Delivery type

Select Standard service or 48 hour service.
It is useful to divide your shipping profiles into these 2 categories because shipping service providers typically distinguish their own prices based on these 2 categories as well. This allows you to pass on the costs to your customers.

14. Iloxx

The shipping agency Iloxx operates as part of the international DPD Group.

  2. Enter the User ID and User token that you received from Iloxx.

  3. Save () the settings.

Now carry out the shipping service provider-specific settings for the shipping services in the table of shipping charges. These services are only visible in the table of shipping charges after you saved the settings in the shipping profile.

  6. In the Iloxx area, select a service from the drop-down list in the line Shipping service.

  7. Save () the settings.

Printing shipping labels

15. Swiss Post

Before setting up the interface to Swiss Post in PlentyONE. register with Swiss Post.

How you set up shipping service providers and shipping profiles and which additional settings you have to carry out and may carry out, is described in the chapters from Setting up countries of delivery through Retrieving the log. The settings described there are the basic requirements in order to carry out the settings that are specific for each shipping service provider. Therefore, first carry out the settings in the chapters mentioned above. Afterwards, continue with this chapter.

Set up a technical user for Swiss Post. You need the web service barcode to do so. Request this web service from the Swiss Post because it is not available by default. This web service is free of charge. The web service becomes available after a few days and you can set up the technical user.

Proceed as follows to set up the interface to Swiss Post in PlentyONE.

Setting up the interface:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » Swiss Post.

  2. Carry out the desired settings. Note Table 11.

  3. Save () the settings.

Enter shipper data:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Shipping service provider » Settings.

  2. Enter shipper data for your warehouses.

  3. Save () the settings.

Now carry out the shipping service provider-specific settings for the shipping services in the table of shipping charges. These services are only visible in the table of shipping charges after you saved the settings in the shipping profile.

Setting shipping service provider-specific services:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Shipping » Settings.

  2. Click on the Shipping profiles tab.

  3. Open the shipping service provider.

  4. Click on the Table of shipping charges tab.

  5. Expand the region ().

  6. Carry out the desired settings. Note Table 12.

Login

Select how shipping orders with multiple packages should be registered with UPS.
Register all together = All packages are registered together and reach the recipient at the same time.
Important: The setting Register all together is mandatory for cash on delivery orders with multiple packages.
Register separately = Every shipping package is registered as a separate shipping order. The recipient may receive the packages at different times.

Payment method cash on delivery

Only checks are allowed for cash on delivery shipping carried out by UPS. If you do not want to allow checks to be used, deactivate the payment method cash on delivery within the UPS shipping profile. Cash on delivery shipments are not registered with UPS.

Include the recipient’s telephone number for international packages

Include the recipient’s telephone number on all packages that are being shipped to foreign countries.

Now carry out the shipping service provider-specific settings for the shipping services in the table of shipping charges. These services are only visible in the table of shipping charges after you saved the settings in the shipping profile.
