1. Legal basis for Amazon sellers
If you offer items on Amazon, you are obliged to comply with certain legal requirements. These include, among others, the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) and the European Accessibility Act (EAA).

and what you need to do to continue selling on Amazon according to the requirements.

The General Product Safety Regulation of the EU (GPSR) requires manufacturers and sellers to ensure the product safety of certain goods and to provide certain information for this purpose. This includes details about the manufacturer and the responsible person in the EU, product warnings and hazardous materials information. The regulation aims to improve market surveillance with regard to unsafe or dangerous products and simultaneously strengthen the rights of consumers purchasing unsafe products.
You can find more information in the PlentyONE Product Information Hub.

3. European Accessibility Act (EAA)
On 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) comes into force. It requires EU-based companies to improve the accessibility of certain products and services. It aims to harmonise national accessibility laws in order to facilitate the free movement of accessible products and services while improving accessibility for people with disabilities and older individuals.
The EAA applies to manufacturers, importers, distributors and service providers who offer products or services in the EU, as well as to the Member States, which are obliged to transpose the Directive into national law. Covered products and services include (among others):
-
Computers and operating systems
-
Smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices
-
TVs with internet access

Telecommunications services

Switzerland is not a member of the European Union and is not obliged to directly transpose the European Accessibility Act (EAA). -
General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
-
RoHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)

Amazon reserves the right to remove products that violate the European Accessibility Act (EAA).
