Attribute
This page explains the matching and mapping fields that you can use while importing attributes and attribute values. This page serves purely as a reference and it assumes that you already have a basic understanding of the import tool.
1. Matching fields
Table 1 explains the fields that are available for matching attribute data. During the import, PlentyONE checks if the imported data record already exists based on the matching field.

Which column of your CSV file lists the attribute IDs? Choose this column here. This option is useful if you want to update existing attributes. Background info: Every new attribute automatically receives an ID, which can not be changed. The ID is used to uniquely identify the attribute. Because the ID is unique, it’s a good way to check whether the imported data record already exists in PlentyONE. |

2. Mapping fields
This chapter explains the fields that are available for mapping attribute data. Use these fields to specify which column of your file corresponds to which data field in your system.
Basic procedure:

In your CSV file: Enter a valid import value into a column.

In PlentyONE: Assign this column to the appropriate mapping field.

After the import: Check the result in the back end.

If you don’t include a certain piece of information in your CSV file, i.e. if you don’t use a certain mapping field, then your attribute will be given the default value. |
2.1. Attribute
2.1.1. Name (internal)
Required field for creating new attributes
Enter the attribute’s internal name into the CSV file. The internal name is used in the PlentyONE back end only and is not visible for the customers.
Default value: No default value
Permitted import values: Alpha-numeric

2.1.2. Position
Enter a position number in the CSV file.
Default value: 0

2.1.3. Image link possible
Should the item image change, e.g. on eBay, depending on which size or colour a customer chooses? In other words, should the appropriate images automatically be displayed on eBay?
Enter your choice into the CSV file.

Additional settings: Link your variations to the appropriate images. Make sure that you’ve made these images available for the marketplace. Then link the variation images to the market attributes. These steps are described in further detail in another chapter.
2.1.4. Attribute selection in store
How do you want customers to choose sizes or colours in your store? Should they choose the name from a drop-down list or click on an image?
Enter your preferred method of selection into the CSV file.

2.1.5. Display variations in item lists as one entry

2.2. Value
2.2.1. Name (internal)
Required field for creating new attribute values
Enter the attribute value’s internal name into the CSV file. The internal name is used in the PlentyONE back end only and is not visible for the customers.
Note: The internal name can only be assigned once per attribute.
The internal name is case-sensitive, i.e. "Yellow" and "yellow" are understood as two different attribute values.
The internal name must not contain the following characters, otherwise errors may occur while exchanging data:

2.2.2. Position
Enter a position number in the CSV file.
Default value: 0

2.2.3. Note
Enter an optional note about the attribute value into your CSV file.
Default value: No default value
Permitted import values: Alpha-numeric

2.2.4. Percentage
Enter a percentage for the automatic distribution of attribute values.
Default value: 0
Permitted import values: Numeric

2.3. Attribute name
2.3.1. Name
Enter the attribute’s external name into the CSV file. This is the name that’s displayed in the online store.
Default value: If you don’t enter an external name, then the internal name will be used instead.
Permitted import values: Alpha-numeric

2.4. Attribute value name
2.4.1. Name
Enter the attribute value’s external name into the CSV file. This is the name that’s displayed in the online store.
