Custom order document
Templates of the type custom order document are not bound by the restrictions applicable to the other document types in DocumentBuilder: They are available for all order types (order, reorder, credit note, redistribution, etc.) and can access all DocumentBuilder variables. They also have an extended range of order settings. This allows you to create additional, fully customisable document templates for situations that the other document types cannot cater to.
Example 1:
You run a shop that sells shoes. Sometimes, customers try to return shoes that they purchased from you despite clearly having worn the shoes in the meantime. In such situations, you return the shoes to the customer along with a polite refusal letter. To be able to generate this letter directly within the respective order, you create the template for it in DocumentBuilder, assigning it the document type custom order document.
Notes:
You cannot activate multiple custom order document templates if they use the same order settings. Activating multiple custom order documents templates is only possible if their order settings differ.
1. Setting up a document template for customer order documents
To generate custom order documents, you need to set up a corresponding document template. For instructions on how to do this, refer to the manual pages on DocumentBuilder.
2. Manually generating a single custom order document
Custom order documents are available for the order types order, reorder and redistribution. While the instructions below apply to the order type order, you can apply the steps without changes to reorders (Stock » Reorder) and redistributions (Stock » Redistribution).
