Best practice: Activating listings

In this best practice, you will learn how to set up an item for the export to eBay. In order to export an item to eBay, first set up a sales price and carry out the settings for the item afterwards.

First things first

Go to Setup » Orders » Order referrer. Make sure that you activated the order referrers eBay (2) and eBay Germany (2.08).

1. Setting up the sales price

  1. Go to Setup » Item » Sales prices.

  2. Click add New Sales Price.
    → The New Sales Price view opens.

  3. Carry out the settings in the following sections:

    • Currency: Select the currencies from the drop-down list () that the sales price should apply to.

    • Clients: Select all of the clients (stores) from the drop-down list () that the sales price should apply to.

    • Class: Select all of the customer classes from the drop-down list () that the sales price should apply to.
      Note: To be able to select customer classes, you must first create them. Customer classes allow you to offer lower prices to B2B customers than to B2C customers.

    • Countries: Select all delivery countries from the drop-down list () that the sales price should apply to.

    • Referrers: Select all eBay order referrers from the drop-down list () that the sales price should apply to.

    • Accounts: In the drop-down list eBay Accounts, the default client must be activated for the sales price.

  4. Save (save) the settings.

No special offer or RRP

If you have saved only one sales price for eBay, this price must not be a RRP or a special offer. The price type RRP can only be selected if you have already saved another price for eBay which is not an RRP.

2. Setting up items

  1. Go to Item » Items.

  2. Open the variation.

  3. Carry out the settings in the following sections:

    • Availability and visibility: Activate the toggle button Active (toggle_on).

    • Sales prices: Add (add) a sales price.

    • Sales channels: Add (add) the desired eBay sales channels.

  4. Save (save) the settings.

  5. If your item has variations, you can activate the inheritance by using the variation group function.

Variation availability

Consider the Variation availability option in the Setup » Markets » eBay » Settings » Tab: Account settings menu. Only the variation availabilities selected for this option are exported to eBay. To ensure that your variations are always exported to eBay, we recommend to select all variation availabilities. Otherwise it might happen that your variations will not be exported in certain cases, e.g. if their availability changes and they are not in stock any more.
