Market integration will be deactivated

The integration of Mercateo will be deactivated on 31 December 2023. This means that PlentyONE will no longer support the market. As such, you will no longer be able to sell your items on the market with PlentyONE. Further information is available in the forum.

Mercateo  is one of the leading procurement platforms for business customers. At Mercateo, buyers can find an extensive range in various product categories. The assortment ranges from office supplies to laboratory materials, IT and tools to hotel and gastronomy equipment.

1. Registering with Mercateo

Register with Mercateo to receive your access data. The access data is required for the settings in PlentyONE.

2. Setting up Mercateo in PlentyONE

Before you can set up Mercateo in PlentyONE. you need to have data for the FTP server that is to be used for the upload to Mercateo, as well as an email account for the order import.

Setting up Mercateo in PlentyONE:

  1. Go to Setup » Markets » Mercateo » Settings.

  2. Carry out the settings. Pay attention to the explanations given in Table 1.

  3. Save () the settings.

Activate the automatic data exchange

Activate in order to automatically exchange data with Mercateo.

General

Item ID

Select whether the Variation ID or the Variation No. should be used for the item data.

Transfer item number

Only select Yes if you are the manufacturer of the item. The selection that you make in the Item ID drop-down list does not affect the option here. For example, if you are the manufacturer of the item and you have already selected a variation number above, then you still have to select the option Yes here.

Item name

Select Name 1, Name 2, Name 3 or Variation name. This name is displayed on Mercateo.

Add attribute value to item name

Select Yes if the attribute value should be displayed behind the item name on Mercateo.

Item description

Select which item description should be transferred to Mercateo.

Consider variation link for image export

Only export variation images and general item images (images that are not linked to a variation).

Input

FTP server

Enter the URL of the FTP server for the data upload to Mercateo.

FTP user

Enter the user name of the FTP server.

FTP password

Enter the password of the FTP server.

Retrieval

User name

Enter the user name for the order retrieval.

Password

Enter the password for the order retrieval.

IMAP server

Enter the server address for the order retrieval.

Port

Enter the port.

Encryption

Enter the encryption. Possible values:

  • SSL

  • TLS

  • NOTLS

Other catalogues

Suffix synchronisation No. 2 - 4

Enter the suffixes for the additional catalogue of items.

Order referrer

Select the order referrer for the import of orders.

Automatic retrieval

Activate in order to automatically retrieve orders.

Updates

Automatic price update

Activate in order to update the item prices on a hourly basis.

Automatic delivery status update

Activate in order to automatically update the delivery status.

Connecting to this market allows for the following automatic functions to take place:

  • Data exchange

  • Order import

  • Hourly price synchronisation

  • Delivery status synchronisation

3. Preparing the order import

You have to create the contact Mercateo before orders from Mercateo can be imported into PlentyONE. To do so, save the following data in your PlentyONE system. Proceed as described below to to create the contact.

Creating a contact:

  1. Go to CRM » Contacts.

  2. Click on Create new contact ().
    → A view for creating contacts opens.

  3. Carry out the settings. Pay attention to the information given in Table 2.

  4. Save () the settings.
    → The contact is created.

  5. Click on Addresses on the left-hand side.

  6. Click on Edit ).

  7. Select VAT number from the drop-down list Option type in the Address options section.

  8. Enter DE815776049 into the Value column.

  9. Save () the settings.

4. Activating the order referrer

Go to Setup » Orders » Order referrer to activate the order referrer. This ensures that orders are assigned to the correct sales channel.

What is an order referrer?

An order referrer tags an order with the sales channel on which the order was generated. Sales channels can be e.g. your online shop or markets on which you sell your items. Each sales channel has an individual order referrer. Some order referrers are available by default in your PlentyONE system. Further order referrers are added e.g. if you install a new plugin. For further information about the order referrer, see the page Order referrer of the PlentyONE manual.

Activating the order referrer for Mercateo:

  1. Go to Setup » Orders » Order referrer.

  2. Click Search (search).

  3. In the list, navigate to the Option Mercateo.

  4. On the right of the referrer’s line, click on Edit (edit).
    → The window Edit referrer opens.

  5. Activate the option Visible in selection (toggle_on).

  6. Click on Save (save).
    → The referrer is active.

5. Setting the variation availability

You need to activate the variations that you want to sell on Mercateo. This is done in the Availability and visibility section of a variation within the Item » Items » [Open item] » [Open variation] menu.

  • For one variation

  • Using variation group function

  • Using batch processing

Making a variation available for Mercateo:

  1. Go to Item » Items » [Open item] » [Open variation].
    Tip: To sell all variations of an item on Mercateo, carry out the settings for the item’s main variation. If the inheritance function is active for the variations, then this activates the availability of all variations of the item.

  2. In the Availability and visibility section, activate the option Active.

  3. In the Sales channels section, click Add sales channels (add).
    → The window Add sales channels opens.

  4. In the drop-down list Sales channels, select the option Mercateo.

  5. Select WEB API.

  6. Click Apply.
    → The sales channel is added.

  7. Save () the settings.
    → The variation is available for Mercateo.

Use the variation group function to edit multiple variations at once. You select the variations that you want to edit.

Making several variations available for Mercateo using the variation group function:

  1. Go to Item » Items.

  2. Set search filters as needed and start the search.

  3. Select () the variations to be edited.

  4. In the toolbar, click on layers » layers Variation group function.
    → The Variation group function window opens.

  5. Select the action Sales channels from the drop-down list Actions.
    → The action is added to the lower part of the window.

  6. In the drop-down list Sales channels, select the option Mercateo.

  7. Select WEB API.

  8. Select the action Active from the drop-down list Actions.
    → The action is added to the lower part of the window.

  9. Activate the option Active.

  10. Navigate to the area Availability.

  11. Click Execute to apply the settings.

Batch processing allows you to edit several variations at once. You use filters to limit which variations are edited.

Making several variations available for Mercateo using batch processing:

  1. Go to Item » Batch processing.

  2. Click on the tab Variations in the upper left corner.

  3. Use the filters on the left to specify which variations should be processed.

  4. Navigate to the area Market availability.

  5. Activate the checkbox to the left of the option Mercateo.

  6. Activate the checkbox to the right of the option Mercateo.

  7. Activate the checkbox to the left of the option Web API.

  8. Activate the checkbox to the right of the option Web API.

  9. Navigate to the area Availability.

  10. Activate the checkbox to the left of the option Active.

  11. Activate the checkbox to the right of the option Active.

  12. Click on Apply to apply the settings to the variations.

6. Exporting items and item images

In the Setup » Markets » Mercateo » Data export menu, you can export your items and item images to Mercateo.

Exporting items:

  1. Go to Setup » Markets » Mercateo » Data export.

  2. Click on Export item data.
    → The item data is exported to Mercateo.

You can also export item images to Mercateo. A maximum of 500 images can be uploaded at once. Allowed data formats are JPG, PNG, and GIF. No image is uploaded twice.

Exporting item images:

  1. Go to Setup » Markets » Mercateo » Data export.

  2. Click on Export 500 item images.
    → The item images are exported to Mercateo.

7. Defining a sales price

To sell variations on Mercateo, you need a sales price in which the order referrer Mercateo is activated. The price that you save for this sales price is the price that will be shown on Mercateo.

What is a sales price?

Sales prices define the conditions under which a variation is sold at a specific price and on a specific sales channel. For example, you can sell your items at a lower price in your webshop than on Amazon. Or you can sell products cheaper to B2B customers than to B2C customers.

Two default sales prices are already configured in your PlentyONE system. However, you can also create new sales prices and edit them individually. In addition to default sales prices, you can also create RRPs, special offers, and set prices.

Defining a sales price for Mercateo:

  1. Go to Setup » Item » Sales prices » [Open sales price].
    Tip: No sales prices? Then create a sales price first.

  2. Open the Settings tab.

  3. Activate the referrer Mercateo.

  4. Save () the settings.

8. Viewing the export history

An overview of exported images is displayed in the Setup » Markets » Mercateo » Export history menu. The images are displayed on different pages. 25 images can be displayed per page.

Selecting a page:

  1. Go to Setup » Markets » Mercateo » Export history.

  2. Select a page from the drop-down list.

  3. Click on the gear-wheel icon to display the page.

The images are displayed along with the corresponding item ID and time of export. It is not possible to export an image more than once. However, if you would like to update an image, e.g. after changes have been made to it, then click on Delete in the Release item image column. Then export this image again in the Item images export area of the Setup » Markets » Mercateo » Data export menu.
